This project is implemented by Winrock International, with headquarters located in Washington, DC and project sites in Latin America, West Africa and Asia with an aim to increase the capacity of host governments in target countries to reduce child labor, including its worst forms. The project is providing technical support and capacity building to improve legislation, monitoring and enforcement of laws and policies addressing child labor issues and the worst forms of child labor. In addition, the program is supporting governments with effective implementation of national plans of action on child labor and implementation of national and local policies and programs. Social programs for prevention and reduction of child labor are focused on increasing access to basic education, vocational training, social protection services, employment creation and poverty reduction initiatives for populations particularly vulnerable to the worst forms of child labor.
