The project centers on equipping Moroccan financial institutions with the tools, data, and strategies needed to identify, assess, and finance circular investments across sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and waste management. I4DI’s role focuses on field-level data collection, technical analysis, and practical guidance that ties CE principles to bankable financing solutions.

This includes mapping infrastructure investment needs, designing diagnostic tools, modeling CE financing gaps, and conducting statistically representative surveys and focus groups with public and private sector actors. I4DI is also advising on risk mitigation mechanisms, helping tailor financial products to CE-relevant segments, and aligning performance metrics with international ESG frameworks.

Core Project Activities:

  • Develop survey methodologies and lead primary data collection across Morocco’s high-potential CE sectors

  • Identify infrastructure gaps and quantify blended capital requirements for CE upgrades

  • Profile firms adopting circular models and analyze success factors by segment

  • Estimate market size and financing gaps, and match them to scalable CE financing structures

  • Support regulatory mapping, policy incentive analysis, and stakeholder engagement to ensure that CE diagnostics and recommendations are grounded in local context and priorities.

Through this work, I4DI is helping bridge the disconnect between circular economy ambition and financial implementation. Our contributions are grounded in technical depth, contextual relevance, and a clear throughline from diagnostics to actionable financing strategies. The work reflects our broader focus on building practical “impact infrastructure” behind sustainable finance and connecting diagnostics, strategy, and tools in ways that enable real investment in regenerative economic models.
