I4DI conducted a training workshop on the use of qualitative methods in impact evaluation for SEO Economic Research, an independent Dutch organization offering services to ministries, companies, and institutions in the non-profit sector. Developed and led by two I4DI experts, the workshop provided SEO staff with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to develop impact evaluation strategy to include qualitative (mixed) methods. The workshop focused on qualitative research, social cost-benefit analysis, theory of change development, evaluation strategy, case studies, and data collection, management, analysis and reporting tool creation. Practical application of knowledge and skills to relevant case studies, combined with theoretical presentations were used to ground theory in SEO’s daily work. The course was hands-on, actively engaging SEO staff participation.
