Adnan Hadrovic is a Senior Advisor at I4DI, where he brings over 25 years of experience in diplomacy, global security, and international affairs to strengthen the firm’s work in complex geopolitical environments. His career spanning foreign ministries, embassies, multilateral institutions, and the private sector gives I4DI a direct line to the strategic, political, and security dimensions that shape how development programming operates — and succeeds — in fragile and contested spaces.
Adnan’s career was built in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s diplomatic corps, where he served for over two decades in postings across Sarajevo, Istanbul, Munich, and Washington, D.C. As Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States — and as Chargé d’Affaires a.i., serving as his country’s representative to the U.S., Brazil, and Mexico — he defined and executed bilateral strategy in coordination with the Bosnian Presidency, working directly with the White House, U.S. Congress, Department of State, and Department of Defense. He managed embassy operations, led cooperation on the global anti-ISIS coalition, and oversaw defense coordination including Bosnia’s partnership with Maryland’s National Guard on its path toward NATO membership. Earlier, as Chief of the UN and Other International Organizations Department at Bosnia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he managed strategy toward the UN General Assembly and Security Council during Bosnia’s term as a non-permanent member, including engagement with the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the leading independent organization advancing Bosnian-American relations.
Adnan holds an M.Sc. in Administrative Science with a specialization in Diplomacy and International Affairs from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sarajevo, and has completed post-master studies in Global Security and coursework in a Ph.D. program in Strategic Analysis and Risk Assessment. He speaks English, Turkish, Bosnian, Serbian, and Croatian.
