Hariom Sahu is an AI Engineer at I4DI, where he builds the AI tools that augment the firm’s evaluation and analytical capabilities. He is the lead engineer behind DECipher, I4DI’s AI-powered platform that lets development practitioners query decades of global development knowledge and get tailored, evidence-based guidance in seconds. He also develops the internal AI systems that support I4DI’s project work, including automated thematic content analysis, qualitative coding across large document sets, and cross-portfolio analytics. His work is grounded in I4DI’s commitment to the ethical, transparent use of AI as one tool among many in rigorous development practice.
At I4DI, Hariom builds AI agents, document analysis pipelines, and multi-model systems that can read, reason across, and synthesize thousands of documents at once. He fine-tunes language models to make them smarter for specific tasks, designs the cloud infrastructure that keeps everything running at scale on AWS, and is constantly experimenting with new approaches to make I4DI’s tools more accurate and more useful. His earlier experience includes software development in the tech industry, and research at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where he designed lightweight computer vision models for medical imaging.
Hariom has a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a B.Tech in Information Technology with a specialization in AI and Machine Learning from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. He speaks Hindi and English.
