The Institute for Development Impact (I4DI) will serve as the Program Review and Implementation Manager for the District of Columbia Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development’s (ODMPED) 2017 Great Streets Business Capital Improvement Reimbursement Grants. As part of this role, I4DI will:
- Review, analyze and evaluate each application
- Provide a written analysis and funding recommendation to the ODMPED
- Monitor the approved grants
Great Streets (http://greatstreets.dc.gov) is Washington, DC’s commercial revitalization initiative to support existing small businesses, attract new businesses, increase the District’s tax base, create new job opportunities for the District residents, and transform emerging corridors into thriving and inviting neighborhood centers that are magnets for private investment. Since inception, Great Streets has grown into a multi-year multi-agency program that utilizes public actions and resources to leverage private investment in retail, office space, housing, and cultural facilities across the District.
ODMPED is currently soliciting grant applications from qualified small business owners in the District until October 21, 2016. Competitive awards up to $50,000 each for qualified small business owners will be made to improve their place of business. The District intends to announce over $5 million in FY 2017 awards for the Small Business Grants. First Source Employment Agreements will require grantees to hire at least 51% District of Columbia residents for all new jobs created by the Project.
Additional information on eligible service areas, funding uses and application submission guidelines can be found in the Request for Applications:
