Who We Are
The Institute for Development Impact (I4DI) was established in 2014 as a center for innovation to improve global sustainability practice. Shaped by an international team of mission-driven professionals, I4DI has grown into hub for consulting excellence, ideation, and collaboration, bringing together thought leaders and changemakers from around the world who see that this work can be done better.
The Institute for Development Impact is a woman-owned social enterprise. We reinvest profits into I4DI’s non-profit arm, Alliance Franco Bettoli-Development Institute (AFB), which operates out of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Balkans, the home region of I4DI’s
We created I4DI to make development practice better. We are mindful of the importance of this work and the effect it has on people’s lives. This responsibility weighs on us and influences all of our actions. We do all of our work intentionally with the purpose of improving practice or results.

We are committed to using knowledge to advance practice for our clients and improve results for those they serve. We do not just “tick the box,” we tie our findings to practical solutions. We consider a job well done when positive changes are made, not when a report lands on a desk.
