Micah Frumkin is I4DI’s Senior Director for Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL). He brings 15 years of MERL experience working with broad range of public and private sector clients across all sectors and geographies. Micah is an expert in applying a systems lens to MERL, working with clients to improve their MEL practices, policies, and approaches in a manner that fits with the culture of their organizations. He is well versed at using evidence to drive decisions and helping partners manage adaptively in complex and dynamic environments. Micah is able to bring a variety of perspectives to his MERL solutions having spent time living and working overseas in several countries, as well as having been embedded within USAID as a Monitoring Specialist for the Office of Policy, Planning, and Learning. Mr. Frumkin is also skilled at facilitating and delivering workshops and trainings, including curriculum development, using human centered design, identifying approaches for complexity awareness monitoring.

Prior to joining I4DI, Micah worked as a Chief of Party and Senior MERLA Manager at the Research Triangle Institute (RTI), MEL Director at QED, and Technical Manager at Management Systems International (MSI). He holds a Masters of Science in Sustainability Management from American University and dual Bachelors degrees from the University of Oregon in Business Management and International Relations with certificate in Global Management.
His particular interests focus on improving the manner in which data and evidence are used to make decisions by donors and development practitioners alike.
