In Memoriam: Franz Valli, Humanitarian Advocate

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Franz Valli, esteemed Humanitarian Assistance and Development Advisor at I4DI. Mr. Valli was a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to serving the marginalized and oppressed, striving to create a better world for all.

Franz Valli held numerous leadership positions throughout his career, including President of the World Solidarity Alliance – Franco Betolli, a prominent humanitarian organization based in Italy, and former President of Emmaus France. With over 30 years of experience in international development and global humanitarian assistance, he made significant contributions to improving the lives of countless individuals worldwide.

Mr. Valli’s passion for social justice and unwavering commitment to those in need was truly inspiring. He recognized the urgent need for solutions in a world plagued by various forms of fanaticism, where the vulnerable, including innocent children, women, and defenseless men, suffer the consequences on a daily basis. He firmly believed that we cannot stand idly by in the face of such atrocities. Instead, we must work tirelessly to address the root causes of frustration and despair that lead individuals to commit the unimaginable.

Franz Valli’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all. We are grateful for the knowledge he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the projects he initiated to bring justice and dignity to the lives of countless children, women, and men. It is our hope that his spirit of compassion and determination will guide us as we carry forward the important work of the Development Institute and the Allianz Franco Bettoli.

On behalf of I4DI, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Valli’s family, friends, and colleagues. We will forever cherish his memory and honor his legacy by continuing to strive for a more just and equitable world.

In sincere remembrance,
