Athena Owirodu is a Research Assistant Intern on I4DI’s Data for Social Change team. She is a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, with a degree in Biochemistry and minor in Sociology. She has a strong background in research through her experience as research mentor in Research Methods classes and quantitative research at her university’s Population Research Center. Athena holds a high commitment to service and equity through her previous roles as a student recruiter and Honors program ambassador, with a desire to reach underrepresented students applying to four year universities. In the near future, she plans to pursue a doctoral degree in Sociology with a focus in biosocial research at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
